These days I am seem to be constantly reminded of the need to be grateful, especially in difficult and challenging times. We all have issues to deal with and situations which threaten to bring us to our knees. It could be a relationship, your job, finances or your health. Whatever you’re dealing with, I humbly suggest that you wake up each morning and try to find a reason to give thanks.
The universe responds to the energy and thought vibrations we send out. If fear is what emanates from you, or frustration or in some cases anger then this is what you will most likely continue to receive. The result? That stressful state where you feel you're constantly climbing uphill and not getting out of life what you what.
I don’t know what you are dealing with but what I believe is that there is always a reason for everything and like my father says all the time, “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger”. I try to remember this when I’m feeling discouraged and disappointed, I tell myself that there is a reason I am going through whatever is happening and I thank God for the experience.
I am also trying to find the joy in simple things, like drinking a nice cup of coffee, sharing a meal with my family, spending time with my parents and friends in Trinidad, playing with my dog Yogi, watching TV with my husband or curling up in bed when its cold outside with a good book.
I still have to wake up the next morning and face the challenges but I truly believe that an energy of gratefulness will attract good things in my life. There is a famous quote by Meister Eckhart which comes to mind, “If the only prayer you ever say in your entire life is thank you, it will be enough."
Dear friends I wish you courage in the face of hardships and grace to endure life’s setbacks. Find something to give thanks for and remember that the universe always has your back.
