I am firmly convinced that affirmations work and that they create miracles in our lives. This isn’t just some “airy fairy” or “woo-hoo” theory, it’s a very scientific approach that connects us to all that we desire. Thoughts and words are energy, like everything else in the universe, when you think and speak with conviction, you are actually connecting to the energy that is in all things.
Affirmations also rewire our brains to think more in terms of possibility than defeat. When we affirm something, anything, whether to our benefit or not, we are setting in motion a mechanism to make it a reality. That’s why it is so very important to stay away from thoughts like, “I don’t feel well,” “this pain is killing me”, “this world sucks,” “ I am so frustrated”, “I am unlucky” and “money is hard to come by”.
Instead go the other route and every time you catch yourself thinking or saying something debilitating, stop! Empower yourself with simple positive affirmations. For instance, “I am creative,” “I have found my dream job”, “I am healthy”, “I look amazing” and my personal favorite, “I am divinely guided and connected to God”.
I have personally experienced the benefits of affirmations, especially when it comes to the health of persons I know and love. Even with my own health, I have used affirmations numerous times to heal myself. One of the most successful documented cases of affirmations that continue to be used for healing comes from the French pharmacist and psychologist Emile Coue.
Almost a century ago, Coue believed that most mental and physical illness was a result of the person’s thinking. He coined the phrase, “everyday in every way I’m getting better and better”. He suggested that this phrase be repeated like a mantra. Thousands of people have since reported that they were healed of their illnesses using this affirmation.
If It sounds far fetched to you, I urge you to keep an open mind, after all, what do you have to lose? My own mother at the end of each day, says to me, “Ann Marie all is well”. This is all I need to fuel my determination to do as Dr. Wayne Dyer used to say, “call the things which do not exist as if they already did”.
So if you are struggling with something right now, why not try positive affirmations ? Say them with conviction and try to feel like you would if they were a reality. I wish you all the best and as my mother reminds me every night- “all is well”.
